Magdeburg Medical School awards teaching prizes
The Faculty of Medicine in Magdeburg honors outstanding achievements in teaching with its teaching awards for the best subjects and teachers.
The Faculty of Medicine at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg has once again honored the best subjects of 2025. In addition, students voted for their best lecturers. The winter semester 2024/25 and the summer semester 2025 were considered. The awards were presented by Dean Prof. Dr. Daniela Dieterich at the January meeting of the Faculty Council.
“Good teaching is primarily reflected in how well students are supported in their learning. It provides guidance, motivates students to think for themselves, and connects scientific principles toecial contribution to making an extremely demanding course of study successful and enjoyable,” explained Dean Prof. Dieterich.

Background to the teaching award
The quality of university teaching is assessed anonymously by students using standardized questionnaires at the end of each semester. The evaluation of teaching has become widespread in Germany and is also firmly anchored in laws and higher education policy recommendations. A summary evaluation report is produced once a year and published internally by the university.
